ENAR belongs to a wider family of neuro-adaptive electrotherapy devices, related to SCENAR technology. This approach has roots in Russian electrotherapy research from the late 1970s, with some sources linking its early development to the Russian space program and the need for portable, non-drug support in demanding conditions. The device combines Western electrical biofeedback with Eastern energy medicine.

In practical terms, ENAR is used to communicate with the nervous system through the skin. Areas of change, sensitivity, or “asymmetry” may be identified during treatment, and the device is used to support the body’s own regulatory and repair responses.
